Summer might be over but don’t despair! There is still lots of fun to be had in and around Burnley now that autumn’s here.
From beautiful walks and heritage to theatre shows and artisan markets, you’re really spoilt for choice.
You could also treat yourself to some new autumn attire or enjoy a hearty meal in one of the town’s fantastic restaurants. The temperature may be dropping but that doesn’t mean you can’t enjoy what’s on your doorstep.

An autumnal walk
Autumn is always a great time to enjoy some fresh air and stretch the legs. The trees are a riot of gold, orange and brown and there’s something to catch the eye at every turn.
Fortunately Burnley is blessed with amazing countryside and nature just a stone’s throw from the town centre and the walking options are endless!

Shows and audiences are back and Burnley’s Mechanics Theatre has some amazing acts lined up over the coming months.

Browse the stalls
Do you like shopping local, supporting local businesses and buying handmade products? Then make sure you pay a visit to the Burnley Artisan Market.
It takes place on the first Saturday of each month between now and Christmas and runs from 10am-4pm on St James’s Street. Over 40 small independent businesses will be in attendance selling everything from craft gin to wax melts.
The first event in September proved a hit so why not come along and see what all the fuss is about!
Food to dine for
Want something to look forward to now summer’s over? Then why not book a meal for you and your friends or loved ones and treat yourself to something tasty!
Burnley is jam-packed with a range of amazing eateries so you’re sure to find something to suit all preferences too.
Try a burger at Ellis’s, go Italian at The Palazzo, experience some Tapas at Astoria or maybe enjoy a Sunday Roast at Illuminati – the choice is yours.

Both attractions have exhibitions and events throughout the year so there is always something new to learn.

A new season is here so what better time to refresh your wardrobe ahead of the colder weather?
Here in Burnley we’ve got huge brands, boutiques and everything in between. Did someone say shopping spree…
You could start in Charter Walk, which is packed full of the nation’s favourites, before a trip to Tessuti or Wish Boutique.
There are simply too many places to mention though so come and explore the high street for yourself!
