Sunday 24th May

Disney Takeover at Disco Bowl

It’s a ‘whole new bowl’ this half term as Disco Bowl hosts a Disney Takeover. Families can enjoy an hour of bowling alongside pizza to share, unlimited squash, a special goodie bag for children, Disney-themed decorations, music and face painting. Taking place from 10am – 12pm, tickets are priced at £56 for a family of four, making it the perfect way to kick off half term with a morning full of fun. For those wanting to make a full day of it, Scrapyard Golf and the Karaoke Box are also available.

Monday 25th May

Step Back in Time at Towneley Hall

Families can step back in time at Towneley Hall this half term with a regency-inspired experience. Running from 12.30pm – 4.30pm, visitors can explore the historic Hall, dress up in regency costumes and even have a free* professional portrait photo taken.

Tuesday 26th May

Free Dance Workshop at Burnley Library

Head to a high-energy dance workshop at Burnley Library. Open to everyone aged 7 and over, this fun and engaging workshop is taking place on Tuesday 26th Mayfrom 2pm – 3.30pm. Led by a professional dancer from the Into the Light: Pioneers of Black British Ballet project, the session celebrates creativity, movement and cultural influences while building confidence and technique in a relaxed and supportive environment.A first step in ballet class for ages 2-5 is also taking place on the same day at 11am, perfect for tiny toes taking their very first steps into the world of ballet.

Bingo and Family Fun at Icaro Lounge

Icaro Lounge has a packed schedule of events planned throughout half term, with something for both families and adults to enjoy.On Tuesday 26th May, children can take part in Kids Bingo from 4pm – 5.30pm, while later in the week families can also enjoy a Little Loungers Sip and Paint session. Alongside the family events, there will also be quiz nights, games nights, live music and adults’ bingo taking place throughout the break.

Multi Activity Experience Days at St Peter’s Leisure Centre

St Peter’s Leisure Centre is once again hosting its popular Multi Activity Experience Days and children can enjoy a variety of activities from archery and swimming to curling and team games. Running from Tuesday 26th May – Friday 29th May from 8.30am – 3.30pm, the sessions are designed to keep children active while helping parents with childcare during the school break. Spaces are priced at £20 per child and are limited.

Burnley FC’s Activity Camp

Burnley FC in the Community is bringing back The Leisure Box Activity Camps this half term, offering four days of activities for children aged five to 12. From football and Clip n’ Climb to arts, crafts, prizes and surprise treats, there’s something for every child to enjoy. Running from Tuesday 26th – Friday 29th May, the camps will keep children active whilst making memories throughout the week.

Wednesday 27th May

Fireman Sam: The Lost Pirate Treasure

If you fancy catching a family-friendly show at Burnley Mechanics Theatre, then make sure to bag tickets for Fireman Sam Live! Follow Norman Price as he searches for hidden treasure deep in the caves and watch as Fireman Sam and the team race in to save the day. Featuring pirate songs, clues and plenty of adventure along the way, this show promises to be a huge hit with young audiences.

May the Popcorn Be with You this Half Term

If you’re looking for a more relaxed activity this half term, Burnley’s cinemas have plenty on offer. Families can head to Reel Cinema at Pioneer Place or Vault Cinema on Manchester Road for screenings packed with adventure, comedy and big-screen entertainment. This half term’s highlights include The Sheep Detectives, Tom & Jerry: Forbidden Compass and Star Wars: The Mandalorian and Grogu. Perfect for rainy days or simply enjoying a quieter afternoon together, cinema trips remain a family favourite.

Roll into Half Term with Picture Me Rollin’

With roller skating, arcade games, a small tots play area and karaoke party rooms available, there’s something for all ages to enjoy at Picture Me Rollin’. Whether you’re showing off your skating skills or just trying to stay upright, it’s guaranteed to be a fun-filled day out. Opening times during half term are:

Ping Pong at Charter Walk

For those who are looking to keep the costs down this half term, there’s plenty to enjoy at Charter Walk Shopping Centre. As well as the free-to-use Ping Pong Parlour, children can explore the Sensory Walk or enjoy the Circle Project area.

Getting around Burnley this half term couldn’t be easier thanks to public transport offers with The Burnley Bus Company (Transdev). Single journeys are just £1 after 7pm, all day on Sundays and on bank holidays, while children under five travel free with an accompanying adult.
