A Facebook group called ‘Discover Burnley Town Centre Online’ has been launched by Burnley Business Improvement District (BID) to help support businesses during the second lockdown and beyond.

It is hoped that this hub will be the go-to place for customers to see what services and initiatives businesses in Burnley town centre are running while nationwide restrictions are in place.

This could include details about deliveries, click and collect or parcels through the post from shops, retailers and traders as well as pubs and bars in the town centre.

Businesses will be able to post offers, news and updates in the group in order to let the people of Burnley know what they are doing to keep going during the lockdown.

Continuing To Diversify Their Offering

The businesses of Burnley adapted during the first period of lockdown and they are continuing to diversify their offering throughout November and into December, in line with the government restrictions.

The launch of this Facebook group follows the government’s announcement that another lockdown would be taking place from 5th November until at least 2nd December, with the Burnley BID aiming to put support in place to help businesses and also benefit the community.

As well as this initiative, the Burnley BID is continuing to work closely with their members to guide them through the relevant grants, funding and support available to them.

Burnley BID Project Manager Andrew Dean has spoken about the creation of the Facebook group and has encouraged people to join so they can see the latest business updates.

Platform To Promote Themselves

“We wanted to support our town centre businesses during this difficult time by giving them the platform to promote themselves whilst helping out their fellow businesses who need support now more than ever.

“It’s important that we shout about all of the great services they are providing by giving the public updates of their offerings which can be accessed all in one place.

“I would encourage members of the public in Burnley and the surrounding areas to join the page as our shops and businesses need your support in order to keep going throughout the coming months.”
