Burnley’s Turf Moor is a great place to watch football. Everyone is close to the action and the fans always create a good atmosphere.

For many supporters however, the game is only part of the matchday experience.

For that reason, we’ve put together a handy list of some of the best places in the town centre to soak up the atmosphere before and after matches. Keep reading for some inspiration!

1. The Loom

The perfect place to warm up before kick-off, The Loom runs a ‘Matchday Special.’

There are some great offers on both food and drink to be had including pizzas for £7.50 and five bottled beers for £12. Please note that the deals only run until kick-off.

2. William’s Lounge Bar

A pre-match favourite with Burnley fans.

Customers can enjoy beers, banter, great music and the ever-popular ‘Pies and Piccalilli’ on the bar. It’s a great place to celebrate a victory too with a buzzing atmosphere especially on Saturday nights. Head to their Facebook page for more.

3. The Bridge Bier Huis

Boasting an incredible selection of local, national and international beers, The Bridge Bier Huis is a popular matchday haunt.

It’s only a ten minute walk to Turf Moor too meaning it’s very handy if you like to arrive at the ground just in time for kick-off.

4. The Boot Inn

Slap bang in the heart of Burnley, The Boot Inn is a Wetherspoon pub.

This means there’s a wide variety of different drinks and plenty of options for food. It is always busy when there’s a game on, so you’ll find a great atmosphere before The Clarets take to the pitch.

5. The Coal Yard

You’ll find great value at The Coal Yard to get yourself in the mood for the match!

Plus they show live sports so you can watch the early and late kick-offs either side of the main event. With 17 screens, it’s also a super spot to see Burnley away games if they’re being televised.

Situated on St James’s Street, it’s convenient for both the town centre and Turf Moor so it’s an ideal place to start and end your day.

7. The New Brew-m

Offering excellent value when Burnley are at home, don’t miss a trip to The New Brew-m.

It’s just £2 a pint on a matchday and the pub features in the CAMRA good beer guide so you know it’s quality too. You can find the pub on St James’s Row.
