Summer is here and there are lots of reasons to get out and about in Burnley over the coming weeks.

Dinosaur Trail

A roaring event of a prehistoric nature is coming to Burnley this summer! That’s right, the town is getting its very own dinosaur trail from Saturday 23rd July until Sunday 4th September.

The static trail will feature eight dinosaurs at various town centre locations and will be in place for the full six weeks. There will also be prizes for people who take part.

A launch event will take place on the first Saturday too featuring interactive dinosaurs. Make sure you keep an eye on our social channels for more information.

Burnley Waterside Trail

Have you ever enjoyed the peace and calm of a stroll by the Leeds & Liverpool Canal?

Well this summer is the perfect time to walk the Burnley Trail and get some fresh air!

With QR codes to scan and an activity sheet for the children, this is a great activity to enjoy with the sun shining. Head to the Canal & River Trust website for further details.

Burnley Vintage Car Show

Start your engines! The Burnley Vintage Car Show is coming to the town centre on Saturday 10th September.

St James’s Street and Market Square will be full of classic vehicles from yesteryear, offering visitors the chance to see a range of beautiful vintage machines up close.

So get into gear and pop the date in your diary for a revved up day of fun!

How about a trip to the theatre this summer? Burnley Mechanics has a fantastic calendar of events over the coming months, with something for everyone taking place.

From musicals and comedy to live music and even a talk on serial killers, you’re bound to find a show for you.

The Super Slow Way

This cultural development programme covers 20 miles of the Leeds and Liverpool canal and includes Burnley.

It is all about celebrating culture and helping people explore the places, history and heritage on their doorstep.

Burnley Artisan Market

The Burnley Artisan Market will continue to take place on the first Saturday of each month over the summer.

Located in the town square on St James’s Street, each market will feature a range of stalls packed with beautiful handmade and homemade products.

It has proved a massive hit this year so if you haven’t been to one yet then make sure you come along! The next three events take place on 2nd July, 6th August and 3rd September.
