Christmas 2022 – events to enjoy in Burnley

The festive season is upon us and the countdown is well and truly on to the big day.

And here in Burnley, there are lots of opportunities to get into the Christmas spirit over the coming weeks!

So to help you plan some yuletide fun, we’ve put together a list of seasonal activities that are taking place in the town centre throughout December. Keep reading to see what’s going on and maybe pop some dates in your diary!

Ice Skating

Would you like to glide into Christmas this year? Well you can at Burnley’s very own synthetic Ice Rink which is going to be located in Town Square.

Open from Saturday 17th – Friday 23rd December, skating sessions will take place from 10am-4pm each day.

Christmas Artisan Market

The Independent Street Burnley Artisan Market returns with a festive twist on Saturday 3rd December.

Running from 10am-4pm on St James’s Street, visitors can expect local produce, Christmas gifts, winter warmers, tasty treats, handmade creations and much, much more!

Burnley College’s Winter Wonderland

Taking place on the same day as the Christmas Artisan Market is Burnley College’s Winter Wonderland event.

Meet Santa and his elves, browse craft stalls, listen to carol singing, take part in some inflatable fun and see a captivating performance of Treasure Island!

Festive fun at Charter Walk

Charter Walk Shopping Centre will be ushering in the festive season with a number of weekends of Christmas entertainment.

The Grinch will be causing mischief on Saturday 10th December while the Santa band will be performing too. Look out for them on Saturday 3rd and 17th.

Santa’s Grotto in New York

New York is coming to Burnley this December courtesy of Burnley Leisure!

A brand new Grotto will be in the town centre on Saturday 10th December and every day between 17th and 23rd December.

Christmas at Burnley Markets

There are lots of opportunities to get into the Christmas spirit at Burnley Markets this winter with events taking place on Saturday 3rd, 10th and 17th December.

From the Allegra String Quartet and Santa’s Grotto to a Christmas photographer and a Christmas trail, there is festive fun to be had at every turn.
