The weather may be dreary, but that doesn’t mean you have to stay in the house this February Half Term! Burnley has so much to offer, from indoor activities to outdoor events, and we’ve made things easy for you by pulling them all together in one big round-up. So, wrap up warm, check out the events below, and venture to the town for a fun-filled week…

With Pancake Day taking place on Tuesday 17th February, there’s plenty of brilliant cafes and eateries offering an array of pancake options for families, including:

Girls Only Creative Workshops
It’s always important to create safe spaces, and The Participation Works are hosting two Girls Only Creative Workshops on Tuesday 17th & Wednesday 18th February. Taking place from 1pm – 4pm, girls aged from 13 – 18 can enjoy two relaxed afternoons at Burnley Youth Theatre, where they can take part in sessions with illustrator, Emma Weston on both days and author, poet and speaker, Nathan Parker on the 18th.
This Pantomime is Just Right for Half Term
Roll up, roll up – the circus is in town! Join Dame Gertie Dollop, Silly Billy and a cast of colourful characters as Sion Pantomime Society present their rendition of Goldilocks and the Three Bears.
Packed with laughs, boo-and-hiss moments and plenty of pantomime magic, this adventure is just right for the whole family. Enjoy shows from Tuesday 17th – Saturday 21st February, with tickets for adults priced at £10 and tickets for children priced at £7.
K-Pop Demon Hunters Disco Party
Bowling meets K-Pop vibes this Half Term at Disco Bowl, where families can enjoy one hour of bowling, epic K-Pop hits, a decorated party space, pizza to share and an on-site face painter!
This event takes place Sunday 15th February from 10am – 12.30pm, with tickets priced from £14 per person. Don’t forget – you can also enjoy Scrapyard Golf in Disco Bowl too, as well as karaoke in the brand new Karaoke booth.
Catch a Film at the Cinema for £5
Half Term doesn’t need to be filled with expensive days out. This February, Reel Cinema are keeping things simple (and affordable) with a £5 For Families offer available on select showings until Sunday 22nd February.

Get Experimental at Ministry of Science Live
The UK’s favourite science team are back and they’re more explosive than ever. Join brilliant presenters onTuesday 17th February at Burnley Mechanics Theatre as they dive into the world of science, exploring how it shapes the modern lives we live today – with a few very loud bangs along the way.
This high-energy live show takes a hilarious approach to science communication, celebrating the scientists, engineers and inventors who changed the world. Expect jaw-dropping experiments including 20ft liquid nitrogen clouds, exploding oxygen and hydrogen balloons, fire tornados, hydrogen bottle rockets, ignited methane and even a self-built hovercraft! Prices for tickets start at £17.50.
Support the Community this Half Term
If you’d like to do something for the community this Half Term, take part in a Community Collaboration Dayon Wednesday 18th February, where local groups, volunteers and organisations are coming together to make improvements across the neighbourhood.
Organisers hope the day will give people the chance to get involved, meet others and see what’s happening in their area, whilst enjoying workshops, crafts and games.
One of the projects running on the day will see Calico’s Going Green Team planting new trees along Rossendale Road, supported by Burnley Council. The planting, which will start at 10am, is part of ongoing efforts to improve local green spaces.
Everyone is welcome to join in – just head to Valley Street in Burnley.
Burnley’s Free Outdoor Dragon Trail
If you fancy getting outside this Half Term, then the free dragon trail at Towneley Park is one to add to your list! Little adventurers can pick up a trail map from Towneley Hall and set off on a magical hunt for dragon sculptures hidden beyond the trees.
