Burnley Believes returns next week, ready to light up the town with Christmas cheer. 

Taking place on Saturday 15th November 2025, the town will be bursting with free activities as well as live performances and a magical Lantern Parade, all building up to the spectacular Christmas light switch-on and snow-filled finale.

Throughout the day, visitors can enjoy free crazy golf, a family trail with prizes, face painting, an action-packed fun fair and plenty more surprises across the town’s popular shopping streets.

The festive fun begins with the Makers, Bakers & Creators Gift Market at Burnley Market. Taking place from 9am – 4pm, shoppers can browse handmade gifts, crafts and festive treats from local traders. From 11am – 3pm, families can take part in free Christmas Crazy Golf on Curzon Street or join Burnley FC in the Community on St James’s Street for games including Elf Snowballs, Christmas Conehole and Reindeer Hoopla. 

Running from 11am – 4pm, a Free Family Trail offers prizes and a chance to win a £50 gift card, with maps available from the Discover Burnley gazebo on St James’s Street. During the same hours, visitors can enjoy free Face Painting and Walkabout Acts bringing festive cheer throughout the day. The Fun Fair will also keep the atmosphere buzzing right through until 6pm.  

The Main Stage on St James’s Street will sparkle from 12pm – 5.30pm, hosted by Radio Burnley’s Lee and Phil and showcasing homegrown talent. Performances include Local Vocal Choir, Next Level Dance, Burnley Youth Theatre presenting Oliver Twist, Ballet Education performing Snowflakes from The Nutcracker, Dynamic Dance Studio, Basically Cheer, Burnley College Performing Arts, Burnley Panto Society and more. Audiences can also enjoy a juggling act from AWOL Circus Arts, a line dance performance from Rodeo Duo and a performance from St John’s C of E Primary School Choir, before pop sensation Channy closes the show with a special Christmas performance. 

At 4pm, the town will glow as the Magical Lantern Parade, a major highlight of the event held in collaboration with the Diversity Festival, sets off from Curzon Street, led by the high-energy rhythms of Batala Lancaster. The parade is proudly presented by Discover Burnley, Burnley BID, South West Burnley Community Action Network and Lancashire County Council, with support from local artists, community groups and schools.

As excitement builds, the town will gather at 5pm for a show-stopping finale, as Burnley’s Christmas lights sparkle into life and snow cannons fire, marking the official countdown to the festive season.
