Christmas is a magical time in Burnley. The town is filled with glittering decorations, magical events, and festive shopping experiences. Here, we have rounded up the cosiest and most exciting things to do across the town this December, so make sure to mark your calendars and get into the spirit of Christmas in Burnley town centre…

Keep the Children Charmed

For an enchanting grotto experience on the run-up to December 24, book a space and hop on The Charter Express, and take a 20-minute train ride to the North Pole where you can meet Father Christmas and make magical memories. There’s also an additional Santa’s Grotto experience at Burnley Market, open December 14, December 21, and December 23.

If you’re planning on bagging your Christmas shopping on December 21, make sure you don’t miss the magical Snow Lion and the Oversized Dancing Elves– accompanied by an illuminated Christmas tree in Charter Walk.

The fun doesn’t stop there! For those who would like to enjoy a live performance with the family, A Christmas Carol will also be coming to Burnley Mechanics Theatre, bringing a timeless tale of hope and redemption on December 23 and December 24.

Festive Fun for Adults

For those looking for something to do whilst enjoying a night on the town this December., Icaro Lounges has launched a festive cocktail menu, featuring Christmas concoctions including Choc Orange Cheer and Merry Berry Punch. The Inn on the Wharf also has an incredible line-up of entertainment in the pipeline, including a journey through Motown, Northern Soul and Disco with Suzie Lewin on December 13, and live music with Amy Doherty on Christmas Eve.

If you’d like to enjoy a crisp pint by the crackling fire, The Swan on St James’s Street serves everything from Cruzcampo to Thwaites IPA, or if you’d like to treat a loved one or friends to a festive Afternoon Tea this December, The Winter Lotus Brewhouse are also accepting Christmas bookings.
