Join us for World Anatomy Day at The University of Central Lancashire, Burnley Campus. This exciting event is designed for everyone — from curious young ones to budding doctors to be. If you are a community group or family looking for a fun, educational day out, this is for you.
Explore the wonders of the human body through a variety of interactive activities:
- Anatomy in 3D: Get hands-on with practical models of muscles and organs. Find out why they are important and how they work by using our augmented reality tablets and 3D models.
- A Close-up Look: Visit our microscope station to examine real tissue and blood samples. You will be able to use the microscopes to see the different types of blood cells and learn what each one does.
- Brain Cap Model Station: Create your own wearable paper model of the brain while learning about its different regions.
- Organ Tidy Up: Oh no, all the organs have fallen out of our cardboard models. Can you help us put each organ back in the right place?
- The Modern Dissection Table: Interact with a detailed, virtual 3D model of the human body using our cutting-edge Anatomage Tables, which we use to teach anatomy at university. Experience virtual dissection and explore anatomy like never before.
- Building your own Skeleton: There are lots of specialist bones in the body, and there are even more types of pasta shapes. Here you get to make your own skeleton, using different types of pasta to be the specific bones that are important in your body.
