FCMS (NW) Ltd has been commissioned by Lancashire County Council as a Community Outreach Provider to deliver NHS Health Check. The offer is open to those who live or work in Lancashire. The NHS Health Check programme is It is completely free and is open to anyone aged between 40-74 years who doesn’t have an existing cardiovascular disease and hasn’t had a check in the last 5 years. It takes 20-30 mins to complete and consists of the following:
- Blood pressure check
- Pulse check
- BMI/height/waist measurement
- Cholesterol test
- Blood sugars test
- General questions in relation to family & medical history, lifestyle questions regarding exercise, alcohol, smoking
The check gives a QRISK score which is the likelihood of contracting a cardiovascular disease within the next 10 years. We discuss the results with the employee and provide a booklet which documents their results and gives additional advice regarding lifestyle choices. Results are shared with their GP. We will ask the GP to follow up in the event of adverse results and can sign post people to lifestyle providers such as Smoke Free Lancashire, Healthy Weight management services etc. if required.
