Burnley Business Improvement District (BID) has announced the appointment of Jason Cothliff as its new Burnley BID Project Manager.

Jason joins Burnley BID from his most recent role as Marketing and Retail Liaison Manager at Burnley’s Charter Walk Shopping Centre, bringing with him a wealth of experience across destination marketing, retail operations, stakeholder engagement and customer service, which included roles at The Mall Shopping Centre in Blackburn and Celebrity Cruise Lines, Azamara and P&O Australia.

He will now co-ordinate the delivery of the Burnley BID’s programme of business support, events and initiatives as the organisation continues through the first year of its second five-year term.

As Burnley BID Project Manager, Jason will be the main point of contact for retailers, hospitality venues, independent businesses and organisations within the Burnley BID area. His focus will be on boosting footfall, enhancing the town’s visitor experience and providing support to Burnley’s diverse business community through initiatives including the Business Crime Reduction Partnership (BCRP) and Town Warden scheme.

He will also oversee activity delivered by Discover Burnley, the BID’s consumer-facing brand, which is responsible for delivering major annual events including Burnley Live, Burnley Believes Christmas Lights Switch-On and the Burnley Vintage & Performance Car Show, alongside monthly Artisan Markets and other seasonal activity.

Discover Burnley also delivers the Burnley Customer Service Awards, celebrating Burnley businesses and the inspiring individuals who provide exceptional customer service across the town and manages a dedicated Discover Burnley website and social media channels, which play a key role in showcasing BID members, highlighting what the town has to offer and promoting Burnley to residents and visitors.
