Community invited to get involved in this year’s Lantern Parade at free creative workshops

Burnley Believes makes its much-anticipated return to Burnley town centre next month, bringing a full day of fun, family entertainment and unforgettable community spirit.

Taking place on Saturday 15th November 2025, the town will come alive with free activities, live performances and a magical Lantern Parade, all building up to a spectacular lights switch-on and snow-filled finale.

Throughout the day, visitors can enjoy free crazy golf, a family trail with prizes, face painting, an action-packed fun fairand plenty more surprises across the town’s popular shopping streets.

The main stage on St James’s Street will showcase incredible homegrown talent, with performances from Burnley dance schools, Burnley College of Performing Arts, Burnley Panto Society and community choirs, plus a special guest appearance from pop sensation Channy and Burnley FC mascot Bertie.

At 4pm, the town will glow as the Lantern Parade, a major highlight of the event held in collaboration with the Diversity Festival, sets off from Curzon Street, led by the high-energy rhythms of Batala Lancaster. The parade is proudly presented by Discover Burnley, Burnley BID, South West Burnley Community Action Network and Lancashire County Council, with support from local artists, community groups and schools.

As excitement builds, the town will gather at 5pm for a show-stopping finale, as the Lights Switch On marks the official countdown to the festive season, complete with a flurry of snow cannons.

The local community is being encouraged to get involved in this year’s Lantern Parade with free lantern-making workshops taking place in community centres and schools across Burnley. Full details on how to get involved can be found here.  All are welcome and you don’t need to create a lantern to join in the parade on the day.

Laura Diffey, BID Programme Project Manager said: “Burnley Believes has become a much-loved date in the town’s events calendar, bringing people of all ages and cultures together and showcasing the pride, creativity and community spirit that Burnley is known for.
