Burnley Believes – and so do we! Join us on Saturday 15th November in celebrating the magic of Burnley with a day full of community spirit, and unforgettable experiences in the heart of our town centre.
Throughout the day, enjoy free crazy golf, a family trail with prizes, face painting, a fun fair, and much more – all designed to bring smiles to families and visitors of all ages.
The live stage will showcase the incredible talent of our town, featuring performances from local music acts, dance schools, Burnley College Performing Arts, Burnley Panto Society, choirs, and more. Also joining us for the switch-on celebration are local Burnley actor Taylor Fay and pop songstress Channy, and beloved mascots Bertie and Bella Bee. It’s set to be a fantastic event for all ages!
At around 16:00, the streets come alive with the Magical Lantern Parade, led by the vibrant rhythms of Batala Lancaster, starting from Bankfield/Curzon Street and winding through the town centre. This vibrant parade is proudly presented by Discover Burnley, Burnley BID, South West Burnley Community Action Group, Get Creative, and supported by local artists, community groups, and schools. Then at around 17:00, the day draws to a spellbinding finale as we begin the countdown to the light switch-on, complete with a flurry of magic as the snow cannons are fired!

Christmas is coming to town as Burnley prepares to light up the season with its most magical event of the year.
The much-anticipated Burnley Believes Christmas Light Switch On is set to make a marvellous return on Saturday 16th November, filled with dazzling activities, delightful entertainment, and a sprinkle of magic sure to get everyone in the spirit of Christmas.
Launching from 11am, the streets will be buzzing with holiday cheer as families enjoy a host of Christmas activities, including:
10:00am – 5:30pm Fun fair on St James’s Street
11:00am – 4:00pm Come and meet the colourful, festive, outrageously funny Christmas Cracker duo. Various appearances throughout the day.
11:00am – 3:00pm Free Christmas-themed Crazy Golf on Curzon Street
11:00am – 4:00pm Free family trail map and face painting on St James’s Street
