SUMMARY:The Cloak of Spells - Craft Workshop
DESCRIPTION:The Cloak of Spells is a free drop-in craft workshop where part
 icipants are encouraged to celebrate a person in their life. This is done 
 by decorating a piece of cotton fabric with a creative task about that per
 son.\n\nThe patch is then added to the ‘Cloak of Spells’ which resembl
 es a Rag Jacket\, a common form of folk garment worn across the world. The
  Cloak acts as a celebration of love\, community and individuality\, and g
 rows with each workshop that takes place.\n\nThe workshop is part of an Ar
 ts Council funded outdoor dance theatre project ‘Pendle Witch’ that ex
 plores the story of the witch trials in Lancashire in 1612 and explores th
 e themes of community and non-conformity\, and expressed through a blend o
 f contemporary and folk dance.\n\nThis project is led by local performance
  artist Aimee Williamson. Aimee’s work spans across ballet\, contemporar
 y\, folkdance\, physical theatre and puppetry. She creates work for outdoo
 r spaces using inspiration from folklore\, nature and heritage.
