SUMMARY:LGBTQ Film Night at the University of Central Lancashire
DESCRIPTION:Join us at our LGBTQ+ film evening in Burnley. Our free film ni
 ght is for students and film lovers alike\, playing short films about and 
 by the LGBTQ+ community.\n\nThere will be two screenings of short films al
 ong with a Q&amp\;A with some of the featured filmmaker with screening 1 a
 t 6pm followed by the Q&amp\;A. After a short break\, screening 2 will beg
 in at 8pm. Please note that audience members need to be 18 years or older.
  This is not due to content\, but because the films are unrated.\n\nThere 
 will be refreshments before the film screening to celebrate the event at 5
 :30pm.\n\nSome of the films which will shown include:\n\n 	I Would Like to
  Live on the Moon (2023) by Emily Burke - a short animated film which shin
 es a light on mental health in the LGBTQ+ community.\n 	I’m Fine (2023) 
 by Weronika Trzpis - a short animated film about mental health in the LGBT
  community.\n 	King Henry (2024) by Harry Faint - a short drama supported 
 by the charity It Gets Better UK. It's about two teenagers elected prom ki
 ng and king.\n 	Embrace (2022) by Latesha Merkel - an animated love letter
  to the asexual community.\n 	The History of the Carabiner (2023) by Giann
 a Mazzeo - a tongue-in-cheek\, historical documentary and fashion film hyb
 rid. It takes viewers on a journey through queer history to trace the orig
 ins of the carabiner as a lesbian symbol.\n 	Ticker (2023) by Thom Petty -
  a BFI Network film starring Paul Copley and Ian Gelder as an older couple
  living in a British moorland farming community\, with one half of the cou
 ple’s health in jeopardy.\n\nThis evening will be delivered by Daniel Wa
 ller and Emily Burke (a former student and one of the film-makers).\n\nTo
