DESCRIPTION:Phoenix Textile Artists group are back at Burnley Mechanics wit
 h their new exhibition Burnley Now and Then. \nThe exhibition provides gli
 mpses of our area in textile art through personal responses to landscape\,
  history and the present day. Also a section in response to the café cult
 ure of the town. \n\nThis exhibition of mixed media art runs until the end
  of November and is open to the public 11am to 3pm on Tuesdays to Saturday
 s. Why not combine a visit to the exhibition with lunch or afternoon tea i
 n the Bistro? Find out more on our website. \n\nAbout the artists: Phoenix
  Textile Artists meet monthly at Fence Village Hall to share ideas\, work 
 and chat.\nTheir textile work ranges from collaborative projects\, individ
 ual work and working as a group on a theme.\nThey have exhibited in many v
 enues across Lancashire and aim to promote textile art in all its many for
 ms.\n\nTheir work is a mixture of traditional and modern methods\, hand an
 d machine embroidery and hand dying of fabric and threads. Some members ha
 ve now branched out into other related textile disciplines such as felting
 \, knitting\, spinning\, weaving and using mixed media. Their aim is to de
 velop their Art and share their work and skills with the wider community.
